Choosing to study law raises questions that official course descriptions may not fully answer.

Applicants might want to ask about:

  • Typical weekly workloads
  • Lectures, tutorials and seminars
  • Reading and preparing cases
  • Essays, examinations and other assessments
  • Mooting, law societies and legal clinics
  • Balancing study with work or social life
  • Settling into university
  • Unexpected challenges or enjoyable aspects of the course

Current students are welcome to share personal experiences, but experiences vary between universities, courses and individuals. Please make clear when something reflects your own situation rather than a universal rule.

Do not publish private information about students, tutors or institutions, and do not request confidential assessment material.

What would you most like to know about studying law?
