PRACTICAL CHECKLIST
LNAT Registration and Test-Day Checklist
Work through the essential steps from checking your deadline to arriving at the test centre.
This independent checklist is designed to reduce avoidable booking and test-day problems. Always confirm the current rules on the official LNAT website.
Three things to do before booking
1. Confirm your deadline. Different universities use different LNAT deadlines, so check every course you are considering.
2. Arrange access requirements first. Register for an account, but do not book a standard test online if you require examination access arrangements.
3. Apply for financial help first. If you may qualify for a bursary, apply and allow processing time before booking your test.
Stage 1: Before registration
Check the correct requirements
□ I have checked whether each university course requires the LNAT.
□ I have checked the precise UCAS course codes where relevant.
□ I have confirmed the deadline applying to each university.
□ I understand that appointment availability may become limited near a deadline.
□ I have allowed time for registration, booking, payment and preparation.
Stage 2: Create your account
Register carefully
The official process has two stages: create an online account and LNAT profile, then book and pay for a test appointment.
□ I have used an email address I check regularly.
□ I have entered my personal information accurately.
□ I have entered my UCAS personal identifier carefully where required.
□ I have kept my LNAT account details secure.
□ I have checked for the email explaining how to continue to booking.
Stage 3: Access arrangements
Do not book a standard test first
Candidates requiring arrangements such as additional time, mobility support, or assistance relating to hearing or vision should register for an LNAT account but should not book the test online.
The official process requires an application and appropriate supporting evidence before the test is booked. Adjustments cannot simply be arranged at the test centre on the day.
□ I have read the official access-requirements guidance.
□ I have obtained the appropriate supporting evidence.
□ I have submitted the official application well before my deadline.
□ I have waited for approval and booking instructions before arranging the test.
Stage 4: Bursaries and payment
Bursary
The official bursary scheme may waive the test fee for eligible UK or EU candidates sitting the test in the UK or EU.
You must apply before booking. The official site advises allowing at least a week for processing, so do not leave this until close to your deadline.
Payment and vouchers
The test fee is normally paid when booking. Candidates without an accepted payment card, or in some countries with card-verification restrictions, may need an LNAT voucher.
Voucher applications also require processing time. Confirm the current payment rules before attempting to book.
Stage 5: Book your appointment
□ I have selected an appointment before the correct university deadline.
□ I have checked the test-centre location and likely journey time.
□ I have checked that the appointment date and time are correct.
□ I have paid or entered the approved bursary or voucher details.
□ I have received and retained the Pearson VUE confirmation email.
□ I have placed the appointment in my calendar with reminders.
If you need to reschedule
Official policy currently permits free rescheduling until 12 noon UK time on the second working day before the scheduled test date. Working days exclude weekends and English bank holidays.
After that point, candidates may have to make and pay for a new booking. Payments are not normally refunded if a candidate decides not to sit the test. Always verify the current policy before acting.
Stage 6: The day before
□ I have checked my appointment time and test-centre address.
□ I have planned my journey and allowed time for disruption.
□ I have checked the current official identification rules for my test-centre country.
□ My photographic identification is current and accepted.
□ I have my Pearson VUE confirmation email available on my phone or on paper.
□ I have read the official test-day and check-in guidance.
□ I will aim for a normal evening and adequate rest.
Stage 7: On test day
Arrive at least 15 minutes early
The official guidance says candidates should arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start. Late candidates may not be allowed to sit the test and may have to pay to rearrange it.
At reception, be ready to provide both your Pearson VUE confirmation email and an accepted piece of photographic identification.
□ I have arrived with enough time to check in calmly.
□ I have my confirmation email.
□ I have the correct photographic identification.
□ I will follow the test-centre instructions about personal belongings.
If something goes wrong
Report the problem before leaving
If a technical problem, disruption or other incident occurs, notify test-centre staff immediately. Ask for the incident to be recorded and obtain an incident number before leaving the test centre.
Contact the LNAT Consortium promptly afterwards with the location, date, description and incident number. Without an incident number, the problem may be more difficult to verify.
□ I informed test-centre staff promptly.
□ I obtained and recorded the incident number.
□ I noted what happened, when it happened and how it affected the test.
□ I contacted the LNAT Consortium promptly after leaving.
